This course integrates research-based material from the fields of Neuroscience, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Positive Psychology, as well as Eastern Philosophy and Practices, to introduce individuals to the physical, emotional and psychological benefits of Mindfulness and Meditation. These benefits include decreased stress and the physical symptoms of stress on the body, Increased focus and concentration, and improved sleep.   Each week, we will learn and practice formal and informal mindfulness practices that will help quiet the mind, bring increased focus to our daily activities, cultivate greater happiness and improve overall health and wellbeing. 

 

6-week session beginning Tuesday evenings, starting October 9th through November 13, 2018, 7:30 - 8:30 pm

6-Week Interactive Introduction to Mindfulness & Meditation.  

Mindfulness can help you lower your levels of stress, stay focused and calm, and live your life with a greater sense of ease and happiness. Mindfulness is everywhere these days, but what is it and how can it help you?  This workshop integrates research from the fields of neuroscience, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and positive psychology, to introduce you to the physical, emotional and psychological benefits of mindfulness and meditation.  Learn techniques to reduce stress, enhance concentration, and improve sleep.  Practices can be integrated into everyday life to help quiet the mind, bring increased focus to your daily activities, cultivate greater happiness, and improve your overall health and well being.

We live in a time when both parents and children are facing high levels of stress that affects how we live, how we eat, how we feel, how we interact with others, how we sleep and how we parent.  Learning to cope with stress is critical to bringing greater calm to our homes and to maintaining strong connections with our children.  Recent studies show that mindfulness is not only a great tool for coping with stress, but also a powerful tool to help adults and children establish healthy mental habits that will help us all not only cope, but thrive.  This interactive workshop will introduce easy to use, evidence-based mindfulness tools and practices that can help reduce stress and bring calm to you, your children and your home. Leave feeling calmer and better-equipped to deal with the stresses of parenting and with important tools to help you and your children thrive.

This workshop is offered through the Scarsdale Adult School.

Mindfulness at New Rochelle High School

I was thrilled to be the keynote speaker on the first day of school for over 3,000 high school students teaching them about stress reduction, how to regulated their own emotions, how to find balance in their lives, and most imporanlty how to connect to their inner voice to find their passions, their wisdom and their inner strength.

JOIN ME in New York City for a special screening of this beautiful new film which I am very proud to have been a part of since its humble beginnings.

In Pursuit of Silence is a meditative exploration of our relationship with silence, sound and the impact of noise on our lives.

 Mindful Parenting

WALK WITH ME 

2bpresent is hosting a screening of the film WALK WITH ME in Port Chester, New York on October 17th at 7:30 pm.  WALK WITH ME takes us deep inside the world-famous monastery of Zen Buddhist master Thich Nhat Hanh, and captures the life of a monastic community who have given up all their possessions for one common purpose – to practice the art of mindfulness. Screenings of this film are happening all over the country!
