Always wanted to establish your own meditation practice or experience the power of meditating with a group? This workshop is perfect for both beginner and experienced meditators as we explore the meditation techniques that we can use everyday to live a more awakened, alive, joyful and balanced life. This workshop will include guided meditation practice, discussion of practice techniques and ample time for questions.

Meditation As A Spiritual Path

Monday, March 11th - 7:30 pm - 8:45 pm

While stress reduction and focused attention are wonderful benefits of meditation, there is much more to establishing a meditation practice that can help us find meaning, purpose and happiness in our lives. This workshop will be a deeper dive into the ancient practices and philosophies that certain meditation practices are built upon, including Buddhist Psychology and Non-dualism, that can be truly transformative in our lives and in our spiritual journey.

Why do so many people have trouble falling asleep? Our minds are so active and our attention is being pulled in so many different directions that it is hard to turn off our minds when it is time to go to sleep. Learn how to achieve a better night sleep in this interactive workshop, explore techniques to help you unwind and quiet your busy mind, deeply relax your body and help you drift off to sleep.

Introduction to Mindfulness & Meditation

As the new year approaches, why not treat yourself or someone you love to the gift of meditation? In our very busy and chaotic world, there is great value to learning to sit still and connect inward. On a basic level, meditation and mindfulness can help you slow down, feel less stress and create more moments of joy in your life. On a deeper level, this practice can help you connect inward to yourself, better understand what really matters to you and see clearly the habits of thought and behavior that are causing you suffering, then learn how to choose differently to reduce that suffering.

This course integrates research-based material from the fields of Neuroscience, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Positive Psychology, as well as ancient Eastern Philosophy and Practices, to introduce individuals to the physical, emotional and psychological benefits of Mindfulness and Meditation.

These benefits include decreased stress and the physical symptoms of stress on the body, Increased focus and concentration, and improved sleep.  

Each week, we will learn and practice formal and informal mindfulness practices that will help quiet the mind, bring increased focus to our daily activities, cultivate greater happiness and improve overall health and wellbeing. 

 

6-week Daytime Session beginning Wednesday, starting January 9th through February 13, 2019, 9:30 am - 10:30 am.

Diving Deeper Course Afternoon Session: The Power of Living Mindfully

Meditation helps us quiet our busy minds so that we can connect inward to a profound stillness where our insight and wisdom lie.

Join me and our growing community of meditators for a powerful new meditation course in Diving Deeper Into Stillness.

Each week, we will practice meditation and mindfulness together and explore various meditation techniques designed to help you dive deeper into stillness. We will discuss the teachings of many great meditation teachers, from the ancient sages to modern practitioners, exploring what it means to live mindfully, fully, compassionately and authentically.  We will work both on grounding into stillness, as well as discovering what may be getting in our way of finding our stillness and peace. We will explore the powerful practice of self-inquiry which can help us get “unstuck” from mental patterns that are not serving us.

This course is designed for those who have already been introduced to the basic practice of mindfulness meditation. This is a wonderful opportunity if you feel “stuck” in your meditation practice and want to learn ways to deepen your practice. It is also a wonderful opportunity to practice in a group each week, which is quite helpful in establishing a regular meditation practice.

Wednesday Afternoons:  1 pm - 2 pm, from January 9th - February 16th.

Mindful Parenting

WALK WITH ME 

2bpresent is hosting a screening of the film WALK WITH ME in Port Chester, New York on October 17th at 7:30 pm.  WALK WITH ME takes us deep inside the world-famous monastery of Zen Buddhist master Thich Nhat Hanh, and captures the life of a monastic community who have given up all their possessions for one common purpose – to practice the art of mindfulness. Screenings of this film are happening all over the country!
